Ornamental trees

Trees are in your garden for a substantial amount of time so it is important to choose correctly as regards eventual height and width to which they might grow. We can offer a selection of ornamental favourites for smaller gardens such as Acer, Birch, Willow, Crab Apple and Cherry to name, but a few.

Allowing a little swaying of tree stems results in sturdy yet resilient plants. Thin out some branches of trees which have a history of leaf spot diseases. Pruning will improve air circulation and penetration of sunlight, which in turn can reduce the incidence of disease. Remove tree guards from the trunks of young trees or shrubs. This prevents moisture build-up beneath the guard, which can encourage rot and promote entry of diseases.
